Is there a guaranteed return on my investment? Is there a guarantee that my investment will be returned?
No. In the case of an equity investment, the investor becomes part owner of the business owner’s company and all relevant laws apply to that arrangement. In the case of debt financing, the borrower promises to pay back the borrowed amount at a specified date with interest. There is no guarantee that payment will be made.
